We can teach you techniques on how to promote yourself better and answer correctly the potential questions asked of you. Your coach will tailor the session so that it's right for you.

 

Learn how to respond to typical standard questions as well as behavioural based questions and those questions based on the selection criteria.

 

Learn to clearly articulate your skills, strengths and why you would make a valuable fit for their team.

OUR FEE

$230.00* per session.

$230.00 (incl. GST)* for an hour and a half interview coaching session one-on-one with an experienced coach. The session can be delivered in-person, Skype or FaceTime.

*Additional fee for a face-to-face session.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Each session runs for 1.5hrs.

It will be personalised for your needs,

building upon your strengths and

helping to improve on where you

may fall short.

You will receive coaching from an experienced coach

based in Perth who will help guide you in responding to both standard and behavioural type questions such as:

- Tell me a little about yourself.

- What made you apply for the role?

- Why should we hire you?

- What are your strengths?

- Do you have any questions for us?

- What can you bring to our organisation?

- What are your biggest weaknesses?

- Out of all the other candidates, why should we hire you?

- What do you consider to be your biggest professional achievement?

- Why do you want this job?

- Tell me about the toughest decision you had to make recently?

- What kind of accomplishments are you most proud of?

- Tell me about a time you disagreed with a decision. What did you do?

- Tell me how you think other people would describe you.

- What do you plan to do if...?

- Tell me about a time when you handled a challenging situation.

- Tell me when you made a mistake and how you handled it.

Please note that we will need a copy of your CV, details on the position and any concerns that you may have that you would like addressed in the session. 

 

Generally speaking, we cover the following skills:

 

  • How to effectively make use of questioning techniques.

  • How to start and end an interview.

  • How to compose yourself when asked difficult questions.

  • Ways you can build rapport with the interviewer.

  • How to using probing techniques.

  • How to read and understand their body language.

  • How to present yourself professionally.

  • How to manage your own body language.

  • How to deal with group interviews and set yourself apart. 

  • Discussing and negotiating salary.

  • Explaining gaps in employment.

  • What to say when you don't know something they ask. 

  • What to say when they ask why you are leaving your last job.

We'll equip you with the skills to be better able to think on your feet and answer a question without too much hesitation and with confidence and assertiveness.

John Coppola is an Engineering and IT professional with over 30 years experience.

 

John has had an extensive career in the IT industry in which he has held a variety of technical and leadership roles for a number of major IT companies in Perth, where he has led large multi-disciplinary teams. Staff that he has mentored, guided and supervised range from project managers right through to software engineers. 

 

John has worked in software and hardware development. He has managed multi

million dollar bespoke projects for both government and private organisations and 

has worked extensively in the mining industry.

 

He has held many senior roles and personally recruited many staff

during his career. He has also managed and mentored many teams and colleagues

and is therefore well qualified to provide coaching advice for interview skills.

He understands how an interviewee needs to clearly express themselves to the interviewer in answering both technical and behavioural questions as well as in actually selling themselves for the position. 

With his considerable experience in holding senior leadership and management positions, John is able to work with clients across a range of fields including:

THE PROCESS

Step 1.

Call or email us to let us know about yourself and to advise us of a time/day that is convenient for you. 

Step 2.

Send us your current CV along with links to jobs that you are interested in applying for, or if you have an interview coming up, please send us details of the role.

Step 3.

During the session, we will do one to two mock interviews or as many as time permits. Throughout the session, you will be provided with feedback and critique on how you are performing during the mock interview/s. Your coach will also teach you how to answer difficult questions, body language skills along with how to sell yourself to the employer in a succinct manner.
