Is Office Politics Still a Thing in 2025?

Yes, office politics is still very much around in 2025.

Even with remote work, hybrid setups, and all the tech we use to stay connected, people still navigate relationships, influence decisions, and look out for their own interests.

What’s changed is how it shows up.

With fewer face-to-face interactions, some of the subtle back-and-forth that used to happen by the water cooler now happens over email, chat, or video calls. It might be less obvious, but it’s still there.

Two women in a brick-walled office, smiling and discussing work at a laptop. Papers and a glass of water are on the table. Warm, friendly mood.
For some, office politics is still a thing.

The trick nowadays is just being aware and keeping your communication clear. Building trust, staying professional, and knowing who to go to for support or advice makes it a lot easier to get things done without getting caught up in the drama.

In short: office politics hasn’t disappeared—it’s just evolved, and knowing how to handle it is still part of the game.
